Personal Watercraft Technician Trainee

We are currently looking for a special person to join us and be trained as a Personal Watercraft Technician to work on Yamaha and Seadoo brands. 

 

The applicant needs to have:

  • natural mechanical ability and interests

  • be physically strong and nimble (normal activities include lifting heavy drawbars, battery boxes, oil drums, bending over/inside engine bays and crawling underneath trailers)

  • be confident with basic computer use

  • be willing to think outside the square (when you strike a problem, you have to work to find a solution)

  • clean drivers licence

  • pass a police security check

  • have good verbal communication skills

  • electrical knowledge is a bonus

  • able to travel to the Te Aroha workshop (base)

The position involves:

  • assisting our Head Technician with mobile servicing which can be a couple of 12 hour days a week (seasonal)

  • some workshop duties assisting with major engine repairs

  • returning jetski's to their owners around the Waikato/Auckland/Bay of Plenty

  • water testing (in all temperatures/weather)

  • basic tasks such as cleaning, stock taking

  • participation in social media posts and videos

  • work is seasonal and holidays are ideally taken between April - September)

This is a unique and amazing lifestyle where no two days are ever the same and the places you will see are truly amazing.  All training and tools are provided.  Training is expected to be complete within 3 years.  

 

The successful technician may also have the opportunity to advance within the company at the end of training.
